Abigail’s Tea Room: Enjoy a variety of teas, including the kind that was thrown into the harbor during the Boston Tea Party. The tea room also serves light snacks, pastries, and sandwiches. During the summer, you can enjoy your tea on the outdoor patio with views of the harbor.
The on-site gift shop is a treasure trove of unique souvenirs and historical replicas. You can purchase tea crates similar to what was thrown overboard, books on the American Revolution, and other themed items like feather quills and costumes that make perfect gifts or mementos.
Your ticket includes access to all parts of the museum, including the interactive exhibits, live reenactments, and a tour of the replica ships.
While same-day tickets may be available, we recommend booking tickets in at least two weeks in advance online, especially during peak seasons between April and November, to guarantee entry at your preferred time.
Yes. Children under the age of 12 years can avail discounted tickets. Check the ticket prices here.
Absolutely! Boston Tea Party Ship & Museum is family-friendly and provides an engaging experience, especially suited for children above the age of 10 years. However, some reenactments may be intense for younger kids below the age of 7 years who may not understand the pretext of the historical events being portrayed.
If you miss your tour time, it’s best to contact the museum staff as soon as possible. They may be able to accommodate you in a later tour, depending on availability.
Weekday mornings are a great choice if you’re looking for a quieter visit, with smaller groups of around 30-40 people. Even during busier times, each time slot is capped at 55 people, so you’ll never feel too crowded. But if you’re after the full energy of the reenactment, a full house really brings the show to life and makes the experience even more exciting!
You decide how involved you want to be! Stand back and take it all in, or dive right into the action by tossing tea overboard. Just remember to be mindful of others so everyone can enjoy the show without disruptions.
The museum does not have a parking lot of its own, but there are several paid parking garages nearby. We recommend opting for public transportation due to limited street parking.
